Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting students as a skilled School Occupational Therapist in Kansas. Work with a diverse K-12 caseload of approximately 50-60 students across several vibrant school communities, including Camber, Bridges Academy, New Chelsea Elementary, Emerson Elementary, and Welborn Elementary. This contract position offers autonomy and flexibility: you'll design your own daily schedule and determine which schools you visit each day, typically averaging one to three visits.

Key Qualifications:

Active Kansas OT licensure required Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred Knowledge of IEP process, student evaluations, and direct therapy services Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and educators Strong organization, communication, and time management skills Commitment to fostering students' functional independence within academic environments

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' occupational therapy needs Deliver both group and individualized therapy sessions in accordance with IEP goals Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student participation Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings Educate families and school staff about occupational therapy strategies Travel to assigned schools, coordinating your schedule for maximum effectiveness Communicate progress and recommendations to stakeholders in a timely manner This contract role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 2027, providing the chance to make a sustained impact on student growth and success.
