Job Description

Job Overview Join our healthcare team as a PRN Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives across diverse settings. In this flexible role, you will provide specialized occupational therapy services to individuals of all ages, supporting their journey toward independence and improved quality of life. Whether working in inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments, you will utilize evidence-based practices and your extensive knowledge of physiology and anatomy to develop personalized care plans. Your proactive approach and compassionate care will empower patients with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, and those recovering from acute or post-acute conditions. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of cases, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to discharge planning and case management efforts—all while enjoying the flexibility that PRN scheduling provides. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities, focusing on assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with evidence-based practice standards for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders Support patients in areas such as autism spectrum disorders, speech therapy needs, and occupational health initiatives through targeted interventions Assist with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing recommendations for ongoing therapy or support services Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to medical terminology standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, case managers, educators, and physicians—to optimize patient outcomes Provide education and training to patients, families, caregivers, and school staff regarding therapy techniques and strategies for supporting individuals with disabilities or special education needs Participate in early intervention programs and skilled nursing facility or outpatient settings to deliver specialized occupational therapy services in inpatient or outpatient environments Experience Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments Strong background in assisting with ADLs, discharge planning, case management, and developing detailed care plans tailored to each patient's needs Experience working with pediatric populations including early intervention and school-aged children with disabilities or special education needs Knowledge of medical documentation standards, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems for accurate record keeping and documentation compliance Demonstrated ability to work effectively in acute care settings like ICU or inpatient units as well as post-acute care environments such as skilled nursing facilities or home health services Prior involvement in outpatient or clinic-based occupational therapy services focusing on patient care improvement strategies Join us as an Occupational Therapist - PRN to bring your passion for helping others into a flexible role that values your expertise.
