Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students from PreK through 8th grade in a vibrant school environment near Kenner, LA. This full-time, contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist provides the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team, including a Physical Therapist, Adaptive Physical Education specialist, and a COTA (present one day per week), while delivering impactful services in an onsite setting. You'll work from a shared office space, fostering meaningful interdisciplinary partnerships focused on student success.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid and active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in Louisiana Experience working with children and adolescents, ideally within school-based or pediatric settings Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with educators, families, and colleagues Ability to provide thorough documentation and progress reporting Adaptability and a compassionate, student-centered approach
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct individualized assessments and develop treatment plans for students with diverse needs Implement direct therapy services, ranging from fine motor skills to sensory processing interventions Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student goals Assist in creating accessible learning environments and recommend classroom modifications Maintain meticulous records and contribute to IEP meetings and student progress reviews Share office space with PT & APE, and coordinate services efficiently with teammates
