Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into an engaging and supportive school environment as a contract Occupational Therapist, working with PreK-8th grade students in New Orleans, LA. This full-time position offers the chance to impact young learners' development while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including a Physical Therapist and Adaptive Physical Education professional. You'll benefit from the assistance of a COTA one day each week, ensuring a collaborative caseload experience.
Key Qualifications:
Active and valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license required Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred Comfortable working onsite in a dynamic, shared office space Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Skilled in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans Strong organizational talents for managing documentation and schedules
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative OT services for PreK-8th grade students Assess students' needs and maintain up-to-date, compliant documentation Collaborate with teachers, therapy staff, and families to support students' IEPs Utilize appropriate interventions to foster students' functional independence Partake in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals Support and mentor the COTA as they assist with the caseload one day per week You'll enjoy a predictable Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, giving you the consistency to plan ahead while working in a welcoming educational setting.
