Job Description

Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) | Methuen, Massachusetts 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Bachelor's or Master's degree in Orientation and Mobility or Special Education, Certification as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS), and 1+ years Orientation and Mobility Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Andover, MA. This contract role serves K-12 students across various ages, providing specialized mobility instruction to support student independence within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver orientation and mobility instruction tailored to individual student needs Assess and develop personalized mobility plans Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate mobility strategies into daily routines Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Maintain documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations
Qualifications:
Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license in Massachusetts Experience working with K-12 students Ability to work onsite full-time from Monday to Friday Strong communication and teamwork skills

Andover, MA (onsite)
Hours:
37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM This role offers the opportunity to impact student mobility and independence during the academic year.
