What we're looking for: Current, active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license Experience working with students in K-12 settings, with adaptability across age groups Strong communication abilities and an encouraging approach with students, families, and staff Commitment to providing in-person support; this is an onsite-only position Passion for helping students develop safe, independent travel skills Key responsibilities: Conduct assessments and design tailored mobility plans for students with visual impairments Provide direct instruction and hands-on training in orientation and mobility skills Collaborate with educators, support staff, and parents to align strategies for student success Track progress, document outcomes, and adjust plans as student needs evolve Serve as an expert resource to school staff on best practices in mobility and safety Advocate for student independence within the educational environment and community This full-time, contract role runs from September 1, 2026, through June 14, 2027, with hours from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, totaling 32.5 hours each week. Compensation starts at $50 per hour, with an opportunity to earn a bonus of up to $5,000 depending on experience.
