Job Description

Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract A full-time opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Andover, MA. This contract position offers consistent weekday hours from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, providing an ideal schedule for work-life balance during the 2025-2026 school year. The role emphasizes onsite support and requires a valid, active Orientation and Mobility (O&M) license specifically for Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized orientation and mobility instruction tailored to students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. Assess and implement individualized mobility plans that promote independence and safety. Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support the functional mobility needs of visually impaired students. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, goals, and progress toward IEP objectives. Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
Active Orientation and Mobility specialist license valid in Massachusetts. Demonstrated experience working with school-age children (K-12) in orientation and mobility services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work onsite full-time during stated hours.
