Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a dynamic educational environment where your expertise in occupational therapy will make a direct and lasting impact. For this contract opportunity, you'll provide specialized OT support to PreK and high school students with a variety of needs, focusing particularly on social-emotional, behavioral, and autism spectrum challenges. Located near Methuen, this onsite position runs from July 6th to August 13th, with a consistent Monday through Thursday schedule (8:30 am - 2:30 pm, 22 hours each week). You'll engage with students both individually and in group settings, helping them build essential skills that support their learning and daily success.
Qualifications:
Valid and active Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts Experience in school-based OT settings is highly preferred Knowledge and background in supporting students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) Familiarity with interventions for social-emotional and behavioral needs, especially in preschool and elementary populations Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary educational teams Adaptability and compassion in addressing diverse student abilities and needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct OT services to PreK and high school students, focusing on both social-emotional and developmental challenges Assess student needs and create targeted intervention plans that help promote engagement and participation in school activities Document progress in accordance with school and state guidelines Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to maximize student outcomes Participate in team meetings and share insights to promote holistic support for students This role offers a meaningful way to contribute over the summer, supporting students' growth in an engaged, multidisciplinary setting.
