We are seeking a passionate and skilled Certified Hand Therapist / Occupational Therapist to join our growing rehabilitation team and play an important role in this exciting expansion. A Unique Opportunity to Help Build Something New This position offers a unique opportunity to join Boston Orthopaedic & Spine during an exciting period of growth. You will initially work within the physician office, side-by-side with our orthopedic hand team, providing direct access to physicians and creating a highly collaborative approach to patient care. This environment provides an excellent opportunity to develop strong relationships with our orthopedic providers while delivering coordinated care to patients with upper-extremity and hand conditions. This is an ideal opportunity for a clinician who wants to do more than simply step into an established therapy clinic—you will have the opportunity to help shape a new rehabilitation program from the ground up while being supported by an established orthopedic practice. Position Summary The Certified Hand Therapist / Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic, hand, and upper-extremity conditions, helping them regain function, independence, and confidence in their daily lives. The ideal candidate is a motivated clinician who values clinical excellence, collaboration, and exceptional patient outcomes and is excited about contributing to the development and growth of a new PT/OT program. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to identify impairments, functional limitations, and activity restrictions. Develop and implement individualized, goal-driven treatment plans for hand, upper-extremity, and orthopedic conditions. Deliver skilled occupational and hand therapy interventions using evidence-based treatment techniques. Work collaboratively and side-by-side with orthopedic physicians and the hand team to promote seamless communication and continuity of care. Provide functional training to support patients returning to daily activities, work, sports, and recreational activities. Educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, adaptive strategies, injury prevention, and long-term management. Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. Assist with the development, buildout, and launch of the new Waltham PT/OT clinic. Help establish workflows and processes that support an exceptional patient and provider experience as rehabilitation services expand. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and initiatives supporting continued clinical and program growth. Foster a positive, professional, and patient-centered rehabilitation experience. Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. Valid Massachusetts Occupational Therapy license Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred. Outpatient orthopedic and/or hand therapy experience strongly preferred. Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while thriving within a multidisciplinary orthopedic practice. Interest in helping develop and grow a new rehabilitation program. Passion for helping patients regain function, independence, and confidence.
