Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this vital role, you will assess, develop, and implement personalized therapy plans that promote independence and enhance daily functioning for pediatric patients. Work alongside a highly qualified interdisciplinary team of professionals who collaborate to provide a holistic approach to treating the whole child. Enhance grant-funded services that circumvent systemic and managed-care barriers to ensure that every child has access to the services they need, not just those covered. This includes a preventive care model that fosters a path toward success for even our youngest patients. Duties Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients to identify their unique needs and strengths. This includes evaluation of primitive reflex retention. Develop and implement tailored occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at improving motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and overall functional independence. Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting, fostering greater independence. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Provide discharge planning by assessing progress and recommending ongoing therapies or home modifications to ensure sustained success post-treatment. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, care plans, and case management records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Apply knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric development to inform effective treatment approaches. Support families through education on therapy techniques and strategies to promote continued progress outside clinical settings. Offer supervision to OTAs Skills Proven experience working with children with disabilities, developmental delays, and/or autism in pediatric settings such as clinics or schools. Strong understanding of early intervention principles and practices for infants and toddlers. Skilled in assisting with ADLs and implementing discharge planning strategies tailored for pediatric patients. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to support sensory integration and communication needs. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
Pay:
$55.00 - $70.00 per hour
