Responsibilities Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, and sensory needs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving daily functioning and quality of life Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and disabilities through targeted interventions Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations Provide education and training to clients, families, caregivers, and educational staff on therapeutic strategies and adaptive techniques Participate in case management activities to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and ensure optimal outcomes Engage in outpatient, inpatient, home health, school-based programs or pediatric occupational therapy services based on client needs Contribute to clinical interprofessional collaboration efforts by communicating effectively with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical staff Qualifications Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant in Maine. Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as pediatrics, outpatient clinics or school-based setting. Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorders and supporting clients with disabilities Skilled in developing care plans tailored to individual client needs and implementing occupational therapy programs effectively Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), clinical documentation standards and medical recordkeeping requirements Excellent client communication skills paired with the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), discharge planning processes and case management strategies Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques including early intervention approaches and working with students with special education needs Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact lives!
