Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Shape young learners' progress by providing essential occupational therapy services in an educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 academic year, covering a maternity leave from early November through mid-February. Enjoy the rewarding experience of collaborating with students, educators, and families, while making a meaningful impact in school-based therapy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active, valid Michigan Occupational Therapy license (require copy for verification) Previous experience in school-based OT settings preferred Strong knowledge of assessment, intervention strategies, and IEP development for diverse student populations Effective communication and collaboration abilities with staff, families, and students of varying needs Adaptability to work across multiple campuses as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in alignment with individualized education programs (IEPs) Conduct assessments, develop goals, and document progress for students utilizing occupational therapy Collaborate closely with educational teams to create accessible environments and support academic achievement Guide teachers and caregivers in best practices for supporting student development and classroom participation Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state regulations Foster an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere to maximize student potential
