Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, and implement occupational therapy services in the treatment areas of self-care skills, fine/gross motor skills, independent living skills, sensory integration, self-regulation skills, visual motor skills, feeding therapy, and cognitive skills.
- Determine appropriateness for need of occupational therapy evaluation and select and administer appropriate assessments.
- Provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to increase children's independence across all environments.
- Complete daily treatment notes, update treatment plans, and produce regular progress reports.
- Assess the need for adaptive equipment and/or assistive technology to increase children's independence within daily tasks and recommend as needed.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to report progress and needs within occupational therapy sessions and strategies for children while participating in other therapies or settings.
- Schedule and complete monthly parent training.
- Additional duties as assigned
Skills:
-Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited university.
- Registered occupational therapist through NBCOT and licensed in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of one year of occupational therapy experience within pediatric setting preferred.
- Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder is preferred.
