Main Facility Location:
Sterling - 38200 Schoenherr Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312. This role requires you to travel locally to our facilities located around the Sterling Heights area. This role requires you to travel locally to our facilities located within a 30 mile radius or less from your home.
Schedule:
Full Time, Monday-Friday General Summary:
Provides therapy treatment to patients according to the established treatment plan under the supervision of the Director of Therapy. Contributes to the development, implementation of, and progression of patient treatment and modifies treatment as necessary. Participates in patient care conferences and program development. Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.
Role Summary :
Provides physical therapy treatments consistent with the professional and ethical standards for the state of Michigan. Provides documentation to maintain the quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care and reimbursement guidelines. Coordinates with other disciplines for effective total patient care. Assures delivery of quality care. Participates in the discharge planning process to ensure continued patient care as needed and provide patient and family instruction. Maintains the clinical expertise of the therapist through continuing education. Contributes to a team philosophy within the department and the company and promotes the same among staff. Delegates work assignments, responsibilities, and patients to support staff as needed. Supervises students and volunteers. Represents the Occupational Therapy Department to family, visitors, and personnel and attends care conferences as requested. Effectively communicates with department staff, company personnel, patients and families and department heads. Secures equipment for patients and department supplies as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Licensure as required by the State of Michigan.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions. Initiative and flexibility in the work environment. Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and their families. Physical Ability to bend, position, transfer and lift patients weighing from 80 pounds to over 300 pounds, without restriction, utilizing lifting devices clinically recommended for the patient.
