Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make an impact by supporting students and staff as an Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school-based environment. This contract, full-time opportunity spans 26-27 weeks, offering the chance to collaborate with educators and families to foster students' growth, independence, and academic success.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and valid Occupational Therapist license for Michigan Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is strongly preferred Strong understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and goal-setting Ability to assess and provide therapy for a variety of student needs Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills Adaptability and positivity in dynamic educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
Complete assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver school-based OT services in accordance with students' IEPs Provide both direct therapy and consultative services to support students' participation in the educational setting Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, families, and support personnel to promote student engagement and independence Document therapy provided and student progress per school and regulatory requirements Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, offering expertise and recommendations to maximize student outcomes Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives among an enthusiastic, collaborative team of professionals.
