Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs OT evaluation and uses treatments to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of patients. Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital Rehabilitation Services are provided in partnership with Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. This partnership allows for rehabilitation providers to take advantage of the extensive research, continuing education opportunities, and care excellence provided by the #1 Rehabilitation Hospital for the past 34 consecutive years.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs patient assessment, treatment, discharge planning and collaboration with other health care providers. Documents patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards. Communicates with co-workers, and other professionals, including physicians and nurses as needed to ensure optimal patient care. Functions as a team member in care of patients and in mentoring with other staff. Delegates aspects of patient care to support staff per
OT/OTA MI
Licensure Administrative Rules providing necessary communication and supervision. Maintains clinical productivity standards. Maintains technical clinical expertise through ongoing clinical education. Participates in in-services, staff meetings, quality activities and aspects of program development. Maintains awareness of patient safety issues within the clinic and in the use of equipment. Assists in the maintenance of patient care equipment as needed. Maintains patient confidentiality according to Henry Ford Health HIPAA policies. Maintains adherence to all applicable Federal/State law/regulations, AOTA standards of practice, MI Licensure requirements, the Henry Ford Health Integrity/ Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, as well as all other Henry Ford Health policies and procedures. If requested, represents Henry Ford Health at community and professional functions. Participates in student education programs May have other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Occupational Therapy bachelor degree acquired from an Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) accredited program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES REQUIRED
Current State of Michigan licensure Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
