Summary:
MUST BE CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST
•The Occupational Therapist I provides evidence-based evaluation, treatment interventions, and educational instruction to patients and caregivers with various diagnoses, disabilities, and impairments affecting client factors (body function and structures), behavior patterns/roles/habits, and occupational performance. The clinician provides student shadowing, clinical instruction, and participates in departmental and community continuing education and outreach.
Responsibilities:
1. Completes occupational therapy documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines. 2. Administers assessment tools or instruments to assist in establishing a plan of care and subsequent modifications and manages resources to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. 3. Mentors assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines. 4. Provides clinical precepting and teaching for students and/or staff under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts; Provides regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Evaluates the learner's performance. 5. Assists in the planning and coordinating of clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

Education Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina. • BLS within 3 months of hire date.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
