Job Description

Sampson Regional Medical Center is searching for an Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team!
Description:
The selected candidate will perform examinations and treatments to individuals referred to occupational therapy. Based on the examination, the occupational therapist organizes and constructs a treatment plan of care that is designed to maximize/restore function and independence/interdependence with activities of daily living, homemaking, work, school & play as needed and deemed important by patient. The written plan of care is expected to follow the required documentation standards set forth by regulating agencies such as the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy & CMS.
Requirements:
Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate from an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) approved school, or equivalent AOTA certified program in occupational therapy. Annual certificate of license by the State of North Carolina. BLS Certification. One year of clinical experience preferred. Ability to organize and conduct clinical activities of the Rehabilitation Department. Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental aging process as it relates to the physical assessment and treatment of patients of all age categories. Exhibits professionalism in all interactions within the hospital system and the outside public. Able to work in collaboration with a variety of individuals and disciplines. Understands the wellness concept and can communicate with clients from the wellness perspective. Thorough theoretical and clinical/practical knowledge of evaluations and basic treatment designs for a wide variety of diagnoses, fabrication/application of orthotics/splints commensurate with experience, and assistive devices to help maximize functional ADL.
Hours:
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of the department. Your Health, Our Passion!
