We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at Continental Springs, a state-of-the-art nursing home in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the delivery of occupational therapy services to residents in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each resident. Treat residents with dignity and respect, promoting independence, safety, and well-being in all aspects of daily living. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal outcomes. Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident progress and discharge planning. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Collaborates with the rehabilitation director to identify opportunities for enhanced services to residents and resolve any issues that may arise. Participates in facility-wide quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality care and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
Valid, unrestricted license in occupational therapy in the state of Nebraska. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace. Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Prior experience in a long-term care setting or similar healthcare environment. Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with residents, staff, and family members.
