Job Description

Occupational Therapist Job Summary:
The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, and help patients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learned to the fullest to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports. Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals. Designs and administers treatment programs Designs home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs. Participates in patient support groups with other team members.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge and skills to care for patient needs of the SNF population Must possess problem solving skills to successfully perform job Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong customer service orientation. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other employees, patients, and family members Ability to travel as needed to perform job Ability to use tools used to make adaptive equipment.
Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required. Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards
Physical Requirements:
Duties require extensive standing and walking. Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients. Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
