Job Description

Occupational Therapist 3809 Bayshore Rd, Cape May, NJ 08204 Part-time, Full-time Part-time, Full-time Come join our team!
Key Responsibilities Assessments :
Conduct comprehensive physical, cognitive, and emotional assessments to understand a resident's abilities and limitations.
Treatment Planning :
Develop individualized therapy goals and implement treatment plans to address deficits in daily living activities (ADLs) and improve fine motor skills, strength, and coordination.
Functional Training :
Provide hands-on training and establish techniques for residents to perform essential tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, and safely moving around.
Adaptive Equipment & Environment :
Recommend and demonstrate the use of adaptive equipment (like assistive devices or wheelchairs) and suggest modifications to the resident's room to enhance independence and safety.
Collaboration :
Work closely with the nursing staff, physicians, and other rehabilitation professionals to create a coordinated and holistic care plan.
Education :
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, techniques, and strategies to support the resident's continued independence and well-being.
Mental & Emotional Well-being :
Implement activities and provide one-on-one support to help residents cope with changes, manage stress, and combat feelings of isolation or depression.
Documentation :
Document resident progress, evaluations, and treatment outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed. What They Do Focus on

Help residents maintain and regain skills for essential daily tasks, from grooming and toileting to cooking and managing medications.
Enhance Mobility :
Educate on proper use of mobility aids like walkers and wheelchairs and improve overall functional mobility.
Improve Cognitive Function :
Employ strategies and activities to boost cognitive skills and memory.
Promote Engagement :
Create opportunities for residents to participate in meaningful activities like group classes, gardening, or other leisure pursuits. Advocate for
