Job Description

School Based Occupational Therapist Carteret, NJ 07008 From $75,000 a year - Full-time From $75,000 a year - Full-time School Based Occupational Therapist The Gateway School in Carteret, a private school for students with disabilities, is seeking a full-time leave replacement occupational therapist from October 2026 to April 2027. QUALIFICATIONS
Valid New Jersey Occupational Therapist License New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) School Occupational Therapist Certificate Successful completion of required criminal history background check Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with students' IEP goals and objectives. Monitor student progress, maintain required documentation and prepare timely progress reports and IEP updates. Collaborate with teachers, families and school staff to integrate therapy goals into the educational setting and support student success. Provide recommendations, training, and support regarding therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and related services. Maintain compliance with professional standards, licensing requirements, mandated service hours, and applicable state education regulations while utilizing evidence-based practices.
SALARY:
$75,000 - $85,000: prorated, depending on experience.
