Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a vital support role working with students in an educational setting, where your expertise in occupational therapy makes a meaningful difference. This contract opportunity, lasting from July 20, 2026, to May 20, 2027, is onsite near Las Cruces, NM. You'll partner with school staff to develop and deliver effective interventions, supporting each student's growth and success throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) with eligibility to practice in New Mexico Previous school-based OT experience is highly desirable Knowledge of IEP development and familiarity with special education procedures Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, caregivers, and support staff Compassion, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct functional assessments and deliver occupational therapy services tailored to individual student needs Develop and implement therapy goals as a part of students' IEPs Collaborate closely with teaching staff and administration to integrate therapy into daily school routines Maintain timely, accurate documentation and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans Engage in professional development as needed and remain current with best practices in school OT This is an onsite-only contract, providing a rewarding opportunity to build rapport with students while supporting their educational journey throughout the school year.
