Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a role that empowers you to support students' growth and independence while working within a diverse educational environment. This contract opportunity near Los Lunas, NM, spans from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027. Join a dynamic team serving both high school and elementary school students, providing Occupational Therapy services that make a difference in young lives. As part of this position, you'll work a consistent 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Your expertise will be utilized across grade levels, specifically focusing on students in grades 10-12 and PreK-6th. This role offers a rewarding challenge for passionate Occupational Therapists interested in both school and healthcare settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapy license for the state of New Mexico. Experience in pediatric and/or adolescent Occupational Therapy, ideally in school settings. Comfortable working with both high school and younger children. Knowledge of home health occupational therapy practices is a plus. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Strong documentation and time-management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy services to assigned students across elementary and high school populations. Evaluate students to determine individualized therapy needs and develop appropriate treatment plans. Collaborate actively with teachers, families, and other educational staff to support student goals. Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and participate in IEP and team meetings. Educate school personnel and families on strategies to maximize student success in both school and home environments.
