Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where your expertise as an Occupational Therapist can profoundly impact students' lives. In this school-based role, you will collaborate with dedicated educators and support staff to help learners achieve their highest level of independence and functional success. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering hands-on therapy to students across various age groups. You'll work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to foster student growth and progress toward academic and developmental goals.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain) Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations Strong communication and collaboration skills Familiarity with IEP processes and relevant documentation standards Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs In this role, you will: Conduct screenings and evaluations for students as referred Design and implement evidence-based therapy plans Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams Provide consultative support to classroom staff, promoting strategies for student success Maintain timely and accurate records in accordance with school and state guidelines Educate families and caregivers on effective strategies to use at home Enjoy a dynamic work environment where your knowledge and support make a daily difference.
