Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a school-based Occupational Therapist by supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade across a district-wide caseload. This full-time contract position provides a unique opportunity to deliver specialized therapy services both in-person and via teletherapy to approximately 40 students, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and physically. Embrace a balanced workweek with a four-day schedule (Monday through Thursday, 8AM-4PM), allowing ample time for both professional fulfillment and personal wellness. Your expertise will make a substantial difference while you also have the benefit of overseeing and guiding a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Key Qualifications:
Current Occupational Therapy licensure from the State of New Mexico (required) Experience with school-based OT services and teletherapy practices Adept at collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Strong communication and organizational skills Previous experience supervising a COTA preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services to students across all grade levels Develop individualized treatment plans, set therapy goals, and document progress Utilize teletherapy platforms as needed for remote interventions Consult and coordinate with school staff and families to support student success Supervise and mentor the assigned COTA, providing clear guidance and support Participate in IEP meetings and contribute thoughtfully to education planning This contract role offers a structured schedule, the chance to cover a diverse range of age groups, and the rewarding experience of making a difference district wide.
