Job Description
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current and active Occupational Therapist license in New York State Previous experience in a school-based OT setting preferred Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and families Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Adaptability in working with students across elementary and middle school gradesResponsibilities Include:
Deliver occupational therapy services to students in both elementary and middle schools; both sites are within easy walking distance Manage a schedule of approximately 9 sessions per day, with time allocated for planning Assess student needs, develop tailored intervention plans, and monitor progress toward goals Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences as needed Provide consultative support to teachers and staff to integrate therapy goals into classrooms Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student engagement and growth This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, from 7:30am to 3:00pm, working 32.5 hours per week.
