Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist specializing in Hand Therapy! In this vital role, you will deliver expert rehabilitative care focused on restoring hand and upper extremity function for a diverse patient population. Your expertise will help individuals regain independence, improve their quality of life, and achieve their personal health goals. Responsibilities Assess patients' hand and upper extremity conditions through comprehensive evaluations, including physiology and anatomy knowledge. Develop personalized care plans targeting functional improvements and recovery milestones. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and safety post-injury or surgery. Implement therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, splinting, and functional exercises tailored to individual needs. Coordinate discharge planning by collaborating with case managers, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care. Work with individuals across various age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and those with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Document patient progress accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and medical terminology. Participate in case management activities, including goal setting and progress tracking for post-acute care or skilled nursing facility residents. Educate patients and families on injury prevention, home modifications, and ongoing therapy exercises to support long-term outcomes. Requirements Valid occupational therapy license with specialization or experience in hand therapy preferred. Proven experience working in inpatient settings such as ICU or acute care units; ICU experience is highly valued. Background in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health services, or school-based programs is desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and speech therapy principles relevant to hand rehabilitation. Skilled in developing and managing care plans while coordinating discharge planning and case management activities. Ability to assist patients with ADLs effectively while promoting independence and safety. $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
