Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective therapeutic interventions. This position requires a strong understanding of patient care across various settings, including home health, acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics. The COTA will work closely with occupational therapists to implement care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve quality of life. Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Provide support in various settings including home health, acute care, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. Document patient progress and responses to treatment in accordance with facility policies and regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient needs. Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises and techniques for continued improvement at home. Maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to all safety protocols. Skills Proficient in assisting with ADLs and understanding the unique needs of patients across different age groups including geriatrics and pediatrics. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and occupational health principles relevant to therapy practices. Experience in various care settings such as inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical imaging processes as they relate to therapy outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to develop comprehensive care plans that address the specific needs of each patient while promoting their overall well-being.
