Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by helping improve their quality of life. In this vital role, you will assess individual needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in a clinical setting. Your expertise will support pediatric patients, ensuring comprehensive care that promotes functional recovery and well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and deliver impactful therapy services in clinic setting Responsibilities Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical goals and evidence-based practices. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility training Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, ABA therapists Document clinical findings accurately within electronic health records (EHR) while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards. Provide specialized interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as those requiring pediatric occupational therapy Support clients across various environments including inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, home health settings, and post-acute care facilities. Implement occupational therapy programs tailored to specific populations such as early intervention children or workers in occupational health. Engage in client communication to educate patients and families about treatment plans and progress while fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship. Qualifications Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across multiple settings such as pediatrics, Demonstrated ability to develop effective treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based practice principles. Experience working with clients who have neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder or other disabilities requiring specialized intervention. Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), discharge planning processes, and case management strategies. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management and documentation standards for medical records. Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams. Inpatient experience or skilled nursing facility background is highly desirable; outpatient or school-based experience is a plus.
