Occupational Therapist — Neurological Rehabilitation Founding Clinician — AHT Comprehensive Neuro Rehabilitation Program Authentic Hand Therapy | Medford, Oregon | Full-Time About the Program Authentic Hand Therapy is launching a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program for patients living with neurodegenerative and neurological conditions — including Parkinson's disease, stroke (CVA), traumatic brain injury (TBI), spial cord injury (SCI), ALS, and Huntington's disease, among others. Neuro OT and PT services begin in November 2026, with future phases planned to add speech-language pathology (SLP), neuropsychology, mental health counseling specific to neurological populations, and potentially a mid-level practitioner specializing in neuro care.

the clinician hired into this role will help shape clinical protocols, workflows, and culture for a program built to grow over the next several years. Position Overview AHT is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to serve as the founding clinician for its neuro rehabilitation service line. This OT will carry a caseload of patients with neurodegenerative and neurological diagnoses, and will directly supervise and collaborate with an incoming Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who brings extensive neuro experience and joins AHT in October of 2026. Oregon OT supervision requirements apply to all COTA-delegated care within this role. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Evaluate, develop plans of care for, and treat patients with Parkinson's disease, CVA/stroke, TBI, ALS, Huntington's disease, and other neurological or neurodegenerative diagnoses Select and apply evidence-based neuro-rehabilitation approaches (e.g., task-specific training, neuroplasticity-based interventions, compensatory strategy training, adaptive equipment and home modification recommendations) Document to Medicare, OHP/CCO, VA CCN, and commercial payer standards, consistent with AHT's billing and compliance policies Coordinate care with referring physicians, neurologists, and other providers involved in each patient's care COTA Supervision Serve as the supervising OTR for AHT's incoming neuro-experienced COTA, per Oregon OT licensure supervision requirements Co-develop and delegate appropriate portions of the plan of care to the COTA, with regular joint treatment planning and progress review Provide ongoing clinical mentorship to support the COTA's neuro caseload Program Development Help establish evaluation protocols, treatment pathways, and outcome measures for the neuro program Participate in planning for future program phases (SLP, neuropsychology, mental health counseling, mid-level practitioner) Contribute to internal training materials and staff education on neuro conditions as the program grows Provide input on equipment, space, and workflow needs specific to neuro rehab Team Collaboration Work closely with AHT's Physical Therapy team as neuro PT services launch alongside OT Partner with clinic leadership and future discipline hires (SLP, neuropsychology, counseling) as the program expands Mentor OT students and contribute to AHT's broader culture of clinical mentorship Qualifications Required Current Oregon OTR/L license (or eligible for Oregon licensure) in good standing Demonstrated clinical experience treating patients with neurological or neurodegenerative conditions (CVA, TBI, Parkinson's, ALS, Huntington's, or similar) Comfort and willingness to supervise a COTA, including delegating and reviewing care per state supervision rules Strong clinical documentation skills across Medicare, Medicaid/OHP, VA, and commercial payer requirements Preferred Certification or advanced training in a neuro-rehabilitation approach (e.g., NDT, PNF, LSVT BIG, Neuro-IFRAH, or similar) Prior experience helping build or launch a new clinical service line or program Experience or interest in interdisciplinary care coordination with PT, SLP, neuropsychology, or counseling Why AHT AHT is a well-established, locally owned outpatient therapy clinic in Medford, Oregon, known for clinical depth and a strong team culture.
