Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving students for the 26/27 school year near Charlestown, RI! This position is ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist or a seasoned Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) eager to support learners primarily in PreK, with some responsibilities across the K-12 spectrum. The role is two days per week, allowing for a balanced, impactful commitment from September 8th through June 18th. Your expertise will help shape young lives, fostering greater independence and participation in educational settings. A background working with AAC devices and students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly valued. You'll collaborate closely with staff, students, and families, driving positive outcomes during a crucial time in their development.
Key Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist or experienced COTA preferred Previous experience in a school-based setting highly desired Strong understanding of AAC devices and assistive technology Familiarity with strategies and best practices for working with students with ASD Ability to provide therapy and support across a K-12 caseload, with an emphasis on PreK Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized therapy plans Provide direct and consultative OT services to students in PreK through 12th grade Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to maximize student engagement and progress Document services, progress, and communications per school guidelines Offer training to staff and guidance to families on implementing therapeutic strategies Take advantage of this part-time, school-based role that fits your expertise and schedule.
