Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and development in a school setting for the 26/27 academic year! This role, based near Wakefield, RI, is perfect for a passionate Occupational Therapist—or an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant—seeking a part-time schedule and the chance to work primarily with PreK and K-12 students. You'll be engaged from September 8th through June 18th, working two days per week. Collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff to help students reach their fullest potential, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Your expertise will make a tangible difference in students' school experiences. Qualifications & Preferred Experience Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or seasoned Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Previous school-based OT or COTA experience, especially at the PreK and K-12 levels Strong background working with AAC devices Familiarity with ASD strategies and supports in educational settings Effective communication and teamwork skills Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, student-centered care Core Responsibilities Assess, plan, and implement individualized OT interventions to address students' functional needs Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Support students' fine motor, sensory, and access skills Consult on adaptive equipment and assistive technology (especially AAC) Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports Contribute actively to IEP meetings and planning What's in it for you?
