Job Summary:

AdviniaCare Oakland Grove is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team! As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, provide teaching and training to caregiver staff, and supervise other therapists, assistants, aides, and students as required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Screens patients/residents and evaluates them to develop appropriate care plans
  • Provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
  • Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
  • Documents activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis
  • Participates in clinical program development and implementation
  • Participates in the training and orientation of other staff, students, and volunteers
  • Participates in census building and marketing activities
  • Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field
  • Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents' individual health information

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • CEU's per state licensure requirements
  • Must possess an OT license in Rhode Island, or be in the process of obtaining one
  • Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
  • Communication skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities
  • Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
  • Requires intense attention and concentration
  • Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
