Job Summary:
To provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities who are eligible for the services.
Qualifications:
State License (SC) and National Boards License (NBCOT) Prior experience in pediatric or school-based setting preferred
Essential Duties:
Consults with teachers, other appropriate staff, medical personnel, and parents to assess student's needs and to recommend materials, equipment techniques, accommodations, and modifications for students who qualify Conducts initial evaluations to determine need for services to meet special education/504 requirements Develops Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives for occupational therapy to enable students to benefit from their educational programs Attend IEP/504 committee meetings as needed Progress monitor goals and objectives Provide occupational therapy services to eligible students Maintains daily log documentation of therapy for individual students Submits Medicaid documentation for reimbursement Participates in and maintains training required to conduct assistive technology evaluations Serves as a member of the District assistive technology team and assists with scheduling evaluations, consultation sessions, and committee meetings to review evaluation results Trains staff in appropriate use of techniques, materials, and equipment for individual students Attends professionally related activities to maintain current knowledge in the field of occupational therapy and educational services Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistant as required through licensing rules Supervisor may assign other duties
