Bonus Potential Summary/Objective Occupational Therapist are responsible for providing skilled intervention for patients in inpatient rehab as part of an interdisciplinary team to achieve the maximum level of independency possible. This Clinical-position requires skills and experience in developing a plan of care with physicians and carrying out the plan. The Occupational Therapist must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Manages scheduling of own patient load and other tasks to allow smooth work flow and effective patient care. Including special projects and miscellaneous duties as needed to promote the smooth work flow of the department. Proficient in the utilization of all occupational therapy equipment in the Department. Evaluates (including re-evaluations) assigned patients, gathering data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members. In accordance with patient's assessment and physician's prescriptions, develops treatment plans for assigned patients including specific goals and activities. Re-evaluates and modifies plan at periodic intervals and as necessary. Practices appropriate safety measures in assisting patients with the performance of job related duties/activities. Follows necessary and pertinent safety precautions during the performance of job duties to prevent injury to self, patients, and/or others and to prevent damages to hospital equipment/property. Has experienced no avoidable accidents and has not contributed to any in the past 12 months. Ensures that problems/concerns regarding activities in the Department are communicated with appropriate personnel. Utilizes lines of accountability appropriately when errors in own or other's work are identified. Maintains professional level of conduct in the Department at all times. Reviews patients progress with physicians and other members of the patient care team. Recommends alterations to the treatment plan when considered advantageous to therapy purpose. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the Department. Facilitates departmental operations through daily completion of all patient charges and other paper work. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of
O.T. 3 - 5
years of experience required. Required License/Certifications O.T. In State of Texas or is eligible to sit for examination and then obtain O.T certification in State of Texas.
