In this role, you will provide essential therapeutic services aimed at enhancing independence, functional skills, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping individuals achieve their full potential through personalized therapy plans and compassionate care. Responsibilities Assess the functional abilities and needs of individuals with IDD and special needs to develop tailored therapy programs. Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve daily living skills, motor functions, and adaptive behaviors. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans. Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies to ensure optimal outcomes. Educate clients and their support networks on techniques and strategies to promote independence and safety. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required records in compliance with organizational policies. Stay updated on current best practices in occupational therapy for individuals with special needs through ongoing professional development. Experience Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or similar populations. Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques tailored to special needs populations. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to assess individual needs accurately and develop appropriate intervention strategies. Compassionate approach with a commitment to improving the independence and well-being of clients.
