ROLE SUMMARY
As a member of the Occupational Therapy team, the Occupational Therapist will lead and supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistants and mentor as they implement occupational therapy services for pediatric clients as directed by the OT; the position requires but is not limited to working with clients and families to address prevention or management of conditions so long-term health benefits are achieved. The Occupational Therapist will examine each individual and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, the Occupational Therapist will work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness and wellness oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Evaluating a patient's functional status Evaluating the home environment Establishing treatment goals Planning treatment Implementing the plan of care through direct treatment Coordinating treatment with other health care personnel Providing instruction and education to patient, family, and caregivers Evaluating need for interdisciplinary referral Participating in multidisciplinary patient care conferences Providing accurate, timely documentation of treatment Participating in appropriate, approved educational and clinical research activities
