Where You'll Work St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital is a 25- bed critical access hospital in Navasota, Texas offering a Level IV Trauma Center, in-patient and out-patient services, physical therapy, emergency care, occupational therapy, skilled nursing care, injury treatment and more. The ED includes a triage room, 5 patient rooms and a central nurses' station. The ED maintains a specific designation for Stroke and Trauma care and is equipped with 24-hour emergency services, laboratory, and CT scans. Job Summary and Responsibilities As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.
Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.

Evaluates, plans and Implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referral, and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet the patient's physical, psychological, and age specific needs; Performs evaluations, tests, and measurements of functional status, neuromuscular, musculo‐skeletal, cognitive/perceptual, and sensory /psychological Functions Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer's needs are met in a timely manner; encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review. This includes, but is not limited to patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule Coordinates care of patients with other departmental and hospital activities in a manner that fosters a positive professional image consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission statement. This includes, but is not limited to, discharge planning, participation in care conferences, interdisciplinary rounds, collaborative practice groups, the student program and community endeavors Assigns, supervises and reviews the care of patients and duties of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, and therapy aide Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel.
