Qualifications & Experience:

Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist license Current TX Certification Previous experience working with students in a K-12 setting is a plus Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills A passion for fostering independence in learners with visual impairments

Responsibilities:

Assess student mobility needs and develop individualized orientation and mobility training programs Provide direct instruction to K-12 students, facilitating the safe and effective use of canes, adaptive devices, and mobility strategies Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support each students educational and mobility goals Document progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with regulatory and school guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to goal-setting and progress reporting
