Use play-based interventions to improve daily functioning and independence. Collaborate closely with families and staff to create customized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Evaluations:
Conduct comprehensive, evidence-based evaluations to assess fine motor, sensory-perceptual, cognitive, and social-emotional development.
Treatment Implementation:
Develop and deliver individualized treatment plans using play-based therapy and sensory integration techniques.
Family Education:
Educate caregivers on home programs, environmental modifications, and therapeutic techniques to support developmental progress.
Collaboration:
Work with pediatricians, therapists, and school personnel to coordinate care.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely progress reports and clinical notes regarding therapy sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education:
Master's or Doctorate level degree in Occupational Therapy.
Licensure:
Valid Texas state occupational therapy license.
Experience:
Previous experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in an outpatient setting, is strongly preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication skills, creativity in play-based therapy, patience, and ability to work with diverse developmental conditions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping pediatric clients develop and improve the skills needed for daily living. This role involves assessing patients' needs, creating tailored treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Skills Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with children and caregivers. Experience with early intervention strategies for children with developmental challenges.
