Job Description

Category Therapy - Skilled - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist in a supportive educational environment near Accomac, VA. This in-person position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of 20-25 students, helping them unlock their full potential through engaging, student-centered interventions. You'll be responsible for direct service, overseeing COTAs, and performing comprehensive assessments. Your expertise will help facilitate collaborative care as you work closely with students, families, and school staff to foster growth and achievement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Virginia Occupational Therapy (VA OT) license required Experience in school-based, healthcare, or home health occupational therapy preferred Confident in managing caseloads of 20-25 students Prior experience supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) is a plus Strong communication, organization, and assessment skills Motivated to deliver hands-on, in-person support within the school setting
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver dynamic, student-focused occupational therapy services in person Supervise and mentor COTAs to ensure quality support for all students Conduct thorough assessments and create individualized intervention plans Track progress and document outcomes in line with regulatory requirements Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop strategies for student success Maintain a flexible, compassionate approach tailored to each student's unique needs Work 37.5 hours per week during standard school hours Benefits of this role include professional growth, the ability to make a direct difference, and a collaborative workplace culture focused on student wellness.
