Job Description

Category Therapy - Skilled - OT Job Type Contract Make a positive impact on students' lives as a contract Occupational Therapist delivering vital support in a dynamic school setting. In this hands-on, in-person opportunity near Exmore, VA, you'll provide evidence-based OT services to a lively caseload of 20-25 children each week. You'll play a key role in helping students enhance their participation and success across school activities.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Virginia Occupational Therapist (OT) license Experience in school-based OT, healthcare OT, home health OT, or skilled therapy Skilled in evaluating and developing individualized treatment plans for children Comfortable supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete thorough assessments Dedication to collaboration and flexibility in a school environment Previous experience with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct OT services to students, supporting their educational progress and participation Complete comprehensive assessments and maintain timely, accurate documentation Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans Supervise and mentor COTAs, providing guidance and oversight for ongoing therapy services Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input for OT-related goals Stay current with best practices and adhere to relevant state and district guidelines This full-time contract position offers a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week and a supportive, team-focused atmosphere where your expertise is valued.
