Job Description

Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced •Occupational Therapist•This is a Part-Time / Direct Hire position (with possibility of Full-Time hours) serving patients throughout Norfolk and Chesapeake, VA, with future opportunities to support patients in Portsmouth and Suffolk as services continue to expand. Our client is a locally owned and operated home health agency that has proudly served the Hampton Roads community since 2009. With a strong reputation for patient-centered care, quality clinical services, and long-standing referral relationships, they are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their growing team.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the Life of an
Occupational Therapist:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide skilled home health services to patients in their homes, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. This role requires a self-motivated clinician who is comfortable working independently, managing their own schedule, and maintaining consistent communication with patients, families, physicians, and the clinical team.
Duties:
Perform initial Occupational Therapy evaluations in accordance with physician orders Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to patients in their homes Complete routine follow-up visits and reassessments Perform discharge evaluations and documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the agency's EMR system Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members Coordinate visit schedules with patients and families Ensure compliance with all agency policies, Medicare guidelines, and physician orders Maintain patient safety and report any concerns regarding home environments or patient care Participate in orientation, meetings, and training as needed Requirements for the
Occupational Therapist:
Required:
Current Occupational Therapist license in the
Commonwealth of Virginia Required:
Minimum of one year of Occupational Therapy experience
Required:
Home Health experience strongly preferred
Required:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Required:
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required:
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Required:
Ability to manage patient scheduling and adapt to changing patient needs
Required:
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
Required:
Ability to pass background screening and drug screening

Compensation & Benefits:
