At the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Occupational Therapist screens, evaluates, re-evaluates and treats patients referred by a licensed provider. Coordinates and communicates treatment activities with health care team members and the patient. Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.
Responsibilities The Occupational Therapist:
Evaluates the patient's need for occupational therapy and develops/carries out appropriate treatment plan. Instructs family members, COTA's, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques. Communicates with the physician and other health care providers on a regular basis regarding the patient's progress. Provides clinical oversight of COTAs in the home. This job description is not meant to be exhaustive and may be modified as needed. Employees may be assigned other related duties to meet organizational needs. Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a licensed Occupational Therapist in Vermont and New Hampshire or hold a compact license. Graduate of an accredited school in Occupational Therapy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience as an OT in a home health care setting is preferred Required Licensure/Certifications Unencumbered OT license in VT and NH or compact
