9604629-98391 Job Description Make a meaningful impact supporting students in Pre-K through 8th grade as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist on a contract basis. This school-based position offers a flexible schedule and allows you to provide consultative services to support the independence and development of children with visual impairments in their educational environment. The assignment is set to begin on September 1, 2026, and will continue through June 16, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Washington School Orientation and Mobility Specialist ESA Certificate, or Washington ESA accompanied by either COMS or NOMC credentials. Experience working with students in Pre-K through 8th grade is preferred. Strong communication skills to consult with educational teams and families. Ability to develop recommendations and strategies to foster student independence.

Responsibilities:

Deliver consultative services to meet the needs of students with visual impairments, providing 30 minutes per month within a predetermined range of time periods to fit your schedule. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure appropriate strategies and accommodations are in place. Contribute insights and professional recommendations to promote safe and effective navigation skills. Maintain documentation and communication in line with district or school protocols.
