9681262-98531 Job Description Make a meaningful impact as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, working with K-12 students and helping them achieve greater independence. This contract position starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year in June. You'll have the opportunity to travel between multiple school sites, collaborating with dedicated teams and supporting a diverse range of students. Work a flexible part-time schedule of 15 hours per week, spread across two days.

Qualifications:

Valid Washington State Education Staff Associate Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education as an orientation and mobility instructor Experience working with K-12 students, preferably within a school environment Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability and willingness to travel to multiple school sites as required Commitment to fostering a supportive, accessible learning environment for all students

Responsibilities:

Assess the orientation and mobility needs of students with visual impairments, developing tailored instructional plans Provide direct instruction in orientation and mobility techniques, both within the school environment and surrounding community Collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff to promote student safety, independence, and confidence Maintain detailed progress documentation and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Engage in ongoing communication with team members and caregivers to evaluate student progress and make necessary adjustments Enjoy the benefits of a highly competitive pay rate starting at $50 per hour.
