$8000 - $9000 monthly Position Overview Alta Vista is seeking a compassionate, organized, and collaborative Occupational Therapist to support children and adolescents at our Pottery Avenue location in Port Orchard. The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation, consultation, and treatment to students and clients with developmental, behavioral, sensory, neurological, and learning-related needs. This position works as part of an interdisciplinary team that may include special education teachers, behavioral health professionals, behavior analysts, behavior technicians, speech-language pathologists, counselors, and families. The ideal candidate is flexible, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and committed to helping young people increase their independence and successfully participate in school, home, and community environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete occupational therapy evaluations, screenings, observations, and reassessments. Identify strengths and areas of need related to fine-motor development, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-regulation, self-care, daily living skills, positioning, and participation in educational activities. Develop individualized, functional, and measurable treatment goals. Provide direct occupational therapy services in individual and small-group settings. Provide services consistent with students' Individualized Education Programs, treatment plans, and other applicable service plans. Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and care-coordination meetings. Develop and recommend sensory supports, environmental accommodations, adaptive equipment, and strategies that improve participation and independence. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to incorporate occupational therapy strategies into classroom routines. Train and coach staff and caregivers in the safe and consistent implementation of recommended supports. Monitor student or client progress, collect data, and adjust interventions based on identified needs and outcomes. Complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, billing documentation, and other required records accurately and within established timelines. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, professional ethics, agency policies, and applicable state and federal requirements. Assist with transition planning and recommendations for home, school, vocational, and community settings. Support a safe, respectful, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment. Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding safety concerns, changes in functioning, incidents, or barriers to treatment. Participate in staff meetings, training, program development, and quality-improvement activities. Perform other duties related to the position as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Washington State Occupational Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before beginning independent clinical work. Current NBCOT certification. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and fingerprint-clearance requirements. Ability to complete timely, accurate, and professional clinical and educational documentation. Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and time-management skills. Ability to work respectfully with children, families, employees, school districts, and community providers from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing pediatric, school-based, developmental, or behavioral-health occupational therapy. Experience supporting children or adolescents with autism, ADHD, intellectual or developmental disabilities, sensory-processing differences, trauma histories, or significant behavioral needs. Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP development, and educationally relevant occupational therapy services. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Training in sensory integration, assistive technology, feeding, self-regulation, or trauma-informed care. Experience with electronic documentation and data collection. Physical Requirements The Occupational Therapist must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities may include:

Sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and moving between treatment and classroom spaces. Working at floor level with children when clinically appropriate. Demonstrating or assisting with therapeutic activities and adaptive equipment. Responding safely during behavioral or environmental emergencies. Lifting or moving materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Schedule The anticipated schedule is Monday - Friday. Some flexibility may be available based on program needs, student schedules, and the selected candidate's availability.
