Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as an Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position (35 hours per week) begins in early September and runs through mid-June, with training days scheduled in August (exact dates TBD). The role is conveniently located near Sumner, WA. In this engaging setting, you'll deliver high-impact OT services within school environments, tapping into your expertise from healthcare, home health, and educational backgrounds. You'll play a vital part in fostering student independence, academic engagement, and participation in daily school activities.

this position is open exclusively to licensed OTs; COTAs are not being considered at this time.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active WA Occupational Therapist license (or ability to obtain before start date) Previous experience in school-based OT, pediatric settings, healthcare, or home health preferred Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to elementary-aged students Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside educators, families, and other professionals Familiarity with documentation systems and progress monitoring in educational environments
Responsibilities:
Assess students' needs and design interventions that target fine motor, sensory, and functional school participation Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate OT strategies into classroom routines Attend IEP meetings, contributing OT expertise and progress reports Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines Provide in-service training and resources to school staff as needed Imagine shaping academic experiences while working a school-friendly schedule and influencing students' lives daily.
