Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based role where you'll support elementary students' growth and success as a school Occupational Therapist during the 26-27 academic year. In this contract position, you'll work with a manageable caseload of approximately 35-45 students, providing vital therapy services that help children flourish in their educational environment.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapy license for the state (or eligibility for licensure before the school year starts) Experience working in school settings, ideally with elementary-aged students Strong understanding of pediatric developmental milestones, sensory integration, and fine motor skill development Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary educational teams Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills Creative problem-solver, adaptable to varied student needs Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and implementation is highly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate students to identify barriers to their participation and success in the classroom Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on each student's unique needs and goals Document assessments, progress, and interventions in accordance with regulatory requirements Participate in IEP meetings, providing input for goal setting and progress reports Consult with educators and parents to ensure strategies and supports are effective in both classroom and home environments Deliver therapy sessions individually or in small groups within school settings Advocate for student access, involvement, and independence across all school activities
